I don’t understand Arena Rock Recording Co. Waking up from the musical hotbed Brooklyn/Manhattan has become you would think the dearth of their releases would be more than run-of-the-mill indie rock. Yeah kill me, indie rock is dead, hell, even when it was alive it was dead. Still, one must assume limited awareness on the local radar, why else would Mink Lungs land a deal when groups like Longwave are still plugging away? This is not to imply that Mink Lungs are poor musicians, hardly, as they “practice everyday”. It’s hard to explain something so filled with nothing. Points of reference include a four-track, some acoustic guitar, nasal whispered vocals and Pavement. Whoopi! (Josh Gabriel)
