Automaton Adventure Series
Futura Transmitta CD - Satellite Transmissions
The
AUTOMATON Adventure Series is a beat kickin', proto punk noise
band armed with sound generation devices and savvy sampling.
The Seattle based three-piece seamlessly couples arty introspection
and indie rock squall into an inspired and experimental sound
that pushes boundaries and explores a vast range of music. Their
prog-punk, post-modern style culminates in an explosion of creativity
on Futura Transmitta. Performing live, the AUTOMATON
Adventure Series use brilliant color 16MM filmstrip images creating
an atmospheric audio and visual collage.
Olympia's Galleon Key Recordings
released their first seven-inch single in the fall of 1998.
They received critical attention and immediately began playing
extensively in the Northwest with the likes of No Means No,
Man Or Astro-Man?, Modest Mouse and Servotron. They then embarked
on a successful national tour in the summer of 1998.
Their debut album, Futura Transmitta,
is a discordant and passionate rock n' roll transmission - that
the band recorded and developed extensively from January to
August of 1999 - with shared engineering by Phil Ek (who has
also engineered Built to Spill and Modest Mouse), Steve Wold
of Moon Music (who has also engineered Modest Mouse and The
Bangs) and Alex Neerman and Jason Powers at Yo Yo Recording
Studio. Futura Transmitta is being proudly released
by Satellite Transmissions, with limited full-length vinyl available
from Galleon Key Recordings.
